Who We Are


Jeffrey S. Trespel earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting in 1981 from the University of Buffalo (SUNY) and did post-graduate work in finance at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.  He enjoyed a 15-year career in the insurance industry and operated an insurance consulting practice before he entered law school in 1997.

Jeffrey graduated with honors from the College of Law at Florida State University in Tallahassee in 2000.  His legal career includes litigation from both sides of the aisle in a variety of insurance-related matters.  Jeffrey joined Will Ferguson & Associates in 2004 and soon after founded The Justice Project of New Mexico to bring fairness and equitable treatment to people with auto accident claims.

Trespel is part of a team of nine experienced trial attorneys at Will Ferguson & Associates.  Within the law firm, he manages a highly specialized squad of claims adjusters who evaluate cases of people who need help in cutting through insurance company red tape and delays.


Gwen A. Myers received a Bachelor of Arts from Southwest Texas State University in Elementary Education, with a minor in mathematics.

She has more than thirty years of claims adjusting experience with liability, casualty, multi-line, and extended handling (legal) claims investigations. She served as claims representative, team manager, and casualty trainer for more than 16 years at Progressive Insurance. She now more than five years’ experience performing similar tasks with plaintiff law firms in Albuquerque, NM. She and Jeffrey Trespel built The Justice Project of New Mexico from the ground up.

Gwen has been married to Jay for 31 years. They have three children, all of whom graduated from college, who have established successful careers of their own. She enjoys hiking, camping, caddying for her son (who is a pro golfer), and of course, wine tasting. She enjoys traveling extensively; she has been all over the world.


Ramona Lovato holds an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies. She graduated from Metropolitan College in Albuquerque with 3.2 GPA and was on the Dean’s List. She began her career as a paralegal/legal assistant, and she worked at a criminal defense law firm for five years before moving to civil law.  Her new focus involves working with personal injury clients.  Ramona married her high school sweetheart.  They have two handsome sons.
